Registration Information for Electrical and Computer (ECE) Engineering Majors and ECE Pr-Engins

Important Information: Follow the advising procedure outlined below. If you do not, a HOLD will be placed on your SPIRE account and you will be unable to register for classes and/or make changes to your schedule, until the HOLD is lifted.

Advising Procedure:

Step 1: Monday March 12 through Friday March 16 - Come to M5 (Marcus Hall, Room 5) and pick up your registration paperwork, print a copy of your unofficial transcript and sign up for an appointment with your faculty adviser.

Step 2: Before your Advising Appointment - Review your transcript and fill in your grades on the EE or CSE curriculum worksheet. List transfer courses as "TR" if they have been approved on your academic requirement report (ARR). Write out a draft of your next semester's academic plan.  Review your ARR online, but please do not print out the report.

Step 3. ECE advising dates are Wednesday March 28, Thursday March 29,  Friday March 30, Monday April 2, Tuesday April 3 and Wednesday April 4- Go to your advising appointment prepared with your partially completed Course Selection Form, a copy of your transcript, a completed curriculum worksheet and the draft of the next semester's academic plan. You and your adviser will finalize your academic plan for Fall 2012 and you will both sign the Course Selection Form.  If you wish to change the agreed upon academic plan later you will need to consult with your adviser.  If you go to your appointment unprepared, don't be surprised if your adviser asks you to reschedule your appointment.

Step 4. After your Advising Appointment - Return the advising paperwork to Barbara Hastings, Marcus Hall, Room 203 (this will insure that an advising hold will not be placed on your SPIRE account).

Step 5. After your SPIRE Access Period Begins - Sign up for Fall 2012 classes beginning on the date and time shown on your Student Center page on SPIRE.
